Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your rates?

A: Creative Community Solutions (CCS) offers both negotiated fee and hourly rate packages depending on the needs of the client.  Typical facilitation rates are $500 to $1,500 per session, depending on the length and complexity of the request.  Most expenses are included in our fee.  Please contact John for a quote.

Q: We are a small organization.  How can strategic planning help us and is it costly in terms of time and money?

A: Regardless of your size, strategic planning is an essential activity for any organization to be successful.  Planning helps answer questions regarding where an organization is going over the next year or so and how it will get there.  For a great, objective discussion about how strategic planning will benefit your organization.  For smaller organizations, planning does not need to be a costly affair.  These organizations can reap the great benefit of a two-day retreat while other organizations may need something more substantial.  Call John at CCS to find out what might work best for your organization.

Q: Do you require a minimum number of meetings?

A: No.  Whether you have a need for a single meeting or a long-term need, we are glad to help.

Q: Do you need to meet with us before hand?

A: Typically, yes.  We think it is important to sit down and discuss your goals and anticipated outcomes.  This information helps us put together an appropriate design for a single session or series of sessions that meet your needs.

Q: Does your firm just do facilitation?

A: While facilitation is a focal point of our work, CCS also assists clients in developing, researching, and preparing a wide range of planning documents.  As our project list shows, we bring an array of experience in land use planning, natural resource management, affordable housing, and social services.

Q: Do you design membership or public involvement programs that our staff or board can implement on our own?

A: Yes.  We can help you design an outreach program that delivers the outcomes you want.  We can also train staff to conduct participatory outreach activities, such as open house, listening post, and a variety of other outreach methods.

Q:  Can you help with team building or conflict issues within organizations?

A:  Yes.  Every process CCS facilitates directly or indirectly involves team building and conflict resolution at different levels.  Many of the requests we get are to specifically focus on these two topics.

Q:  Do you only work in Olympia?

A:  No, we work throughout the Puget Sound Region.
